In school all day again, so glad its Friday, am desperate for the weekend along with everyone else. I sorted a few cross stitches out towards the planning of year fives cross stitch design. We had a really enjoyable lesson. We had Brendyns swimming lessons this afternoon at the village hotel, he is doing really well and before Christmas got his life saving award.
In school all day today so feeling tired, working in a school you don't get to sit down much, which was fine 2014 but after the Christmas break it was a long day today. Tomorrow I have a cross stitch lesson with year 5 so I have been getting a few things out towards this.
I thought I would use the starting kit which I got from Aldi, the magazine for ideas, to the pc version where you can create your own designs and finally the finished article. What a wet, cold and windy day but yet a beautiful start of the day when I woke up this morning. Olivia had fairy tale dressing up day today so she went as (the little mermaid) which was great as she still had her costume from last years "water theme" so I thankfully didn't have to buy another outfit. Gemma came round for a cuppa and catch up after Christmas, was lovely, we could have chatted and giggled all day. Back to normal routine and swimming lessons for Olivia this evening, if she wasn't so excited I was all for cancelling brrr. Last night I made a start on my throw, which I am continuing with this evening.
Children are back at school now, so I took the opportunity to tidy and clean house top to bottom. Found a home for my Christmas wool, Olivia counted with me 68 balls, can't wait to make something. My next project is a small throw or blanket for my chair for show more than practical use, I have chosen cream and brown wool from hobbycraft.
Back to work for Rich today. Brendyn and Olivia enjoyed their last day of the holiday and made a den. I spent the afternoon searching and organising Olivia's birthday party, she's so excited, she ran to daddy when he came in from work all giggles and laughter we had to pull her off the ceiling. Watch this space! I finished my cushion my first project of the new year.
Children are sad today that the Christmas tree comes down, we have had a lovely holiday with family and friends, Rich and the children broke up on the 19th and we have had every day since to be together, but life goes on after Christmas so it's back to work for Rich tomorrow. So the tree comes down today unfortunately, usually we have traditionally taken it down on the 5th, but there's no point stretching it out for one more day and the inconvenience of boxing it all up at 7pm, we all dread putting it away as we loose the house to a madness of decorations and chaos. So this year I came up with an idea to make a time capsule of memories, we all wrote 5 things that were our favourite over Christmas put them in a loo role (why not) and away with the decorations, so December we can read them and reiterate the Activities. It was just a bit of family fun but enjoyable looking back over the past few weeks rather then sad the tree came down. Most of the day was spent de-christmasing the house craft wise, now the children are in bed I will finish edging and sewing up my cushion.
Richard asked me to crochet a cover for the light cord handle in nanny's bathroom, he was worried the children might hit it off the recently new glass shower door. After breakfast we went to Barnetts Hill garden centre, we had some lovely items. Home for us but a quick stop off at Ikea for cushions for mum amd dad.
Had a lovely stay at nanny and grandads. I finished making the granny squares for my cushion. I realised I hadn't packed any hair accessories for Olivia, she's 4 going on 14! So out came the crochet hook and wool and I made her a purple bow using one of my hair clips. Spent the afternoon and evening at nanny Jenny's. Rich got the old records out and we all reminissed. During this time I finished my cushion sewing up all my granny squares. The front of the cushion is finished, I need to wait until I am at home to crochet in between the front and back and then join them all together.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE My first project this year is a cushion for my chair, so I'm doing it in a lovely pink and brown.
