Unbelievably it's the last day of March today! We had a lovely weekend despite Rich coming home saying the car is going this week and panic we must get something! Usual housework day and change beds, lunch with Becky and girls played. Mothers Day Gifts I made:I can show the gifts now the mums have opened them, they both had brown owl satchel bags, daffodils off the children, that they choose.
Happy Mothers Day Mum and Jenny Thank you children for my beautiful presents. Daddy you spoilt me your naughty! Today we are going to the garden centre with nanny and grandad. Afterwards Rich is cooking us all a lovelysunday lunch. How exciting Cath Kidson paper, I was given this in bed this morning. I also had some lovely flowers chocolates and a bottle of home made wine that the children had designed their own label on.
I am editing Saturday verylater, as we have had such a full, stressful, busy month, I have not had 5 minutes and also we received some bad news. Here's why! Richard came home Friday from work with sad news. Unfortunately he will be made redundant this week, having a company car, meant at least by Wednesday we would be car less, as I have no car, the village is small so i walk everywhere at the moment, i have no need to drive, so we only have the one. So today comprised of breakfast, Brendyn's swimming (where he did really well and got his 50 metre badge) and 5 metre breast stroke. Well done Brendyn. Followed by nanny and the 4 of us going swimming for an hour at a public swim, totally relaxed us all, this was already planned, previously. Home for lunch Tuna melt Baguette. Then Rich and dad spent time looking for a car. This is our old car we had for the last 3 years, called Finn Mcmissile. Brendyn named him as his favourite film was Disney cars. This is what Rich and dad found for us, we needed something with a full service history and 12 months MOT Tax, available to have straight away and whatever we could afford in cash that day. There was no point getting another car or hiring one as he didn't have a job anymore, nor did we know if we would have another company car, so we called him "Grandpa" as he is 17 years old and a go between for whatever we decide to do/if Rich gets a company car. Housework and beds this morning, then back up to school for Mothers day service. It was wonderful I had "Happy tears" as Olivia says. Seems five minutes since I was watching Brendyn in nursery. Thank you Olivia for mummys beautiful gifts, you sang fantastic. Nanny and grandad are staying at ours over The weekend.
After shopping : We had fish and chips as a treat. The "playground talk" today was :
"Apprently were having a heat wave in March! " mum's say. That would be lovely, hurry up please, Thanks British Gas we now have heating! Last night our boiler flashed a fault at us, as luck would have it we had a service booked in for the next day. Engineer came at 1pm finished at 3pm! glad we had our money's worth! Typically it was the condensater our house is 8 years old now and a wimpy home, if you have the same problem we have, every year after winter, it gets blocked, particals from the field in front of the house, but mainly wimpy's pipe is not at a perfect angle for drainage, therefore condensation cuts the boiler off. Solution is to insert a new pipe from the boiler and out through the waste, bit annoying that were having to put a job right that Wimpy should have done in the first place. So luckily we have cover with bbritish gas, but my neighbour has had 3 boilers! Just a bit of info to save you money and time. This afternoon we looked after Emily, usually she is with her nan but they are on holiday, so while Becky was at work I had the girls, they played, watched films and made mother day cards for her mum and nanny. They had fun helping the engineer make sure all the radiators were hot. We had chicken burgers, mash and peas for a quick tea.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! Really cold walking them to swimming got home and the heating packed up :-/. Thankfully we have a few fires so soon got warm. Also luckily with b gas so they coming tomorrow. Read some stories to Olivia, she played schools with her teddies while I ironed.
Brendyn came home wanting cuddles hadn't had good day at school a few boys got told off and the whole class had to miss playtime, he was not impressed. So read him Harry Potter chear him up. Had chicken curry for tea, off to do more crocheting, it's therapeutic. Olivia brought home a rocket and kite she made at nursery, in her "up, up and away topic"! Lovely and sunny this Morning but so, so, bitter cold by this afternoon collecting Brendyn. Lunch at Becky's girls played mummy and daddies with the dolls.
Rich did an omelette for breakfast. Brendyn finished his maths homework off. It was sunny so we decided to take them to the local park, big mistake half way round the heavens opened not just rain but hail! ouch not pleasant, we ran back to the car and boosted the heating. Came home laughing at how funny we must of looked. So they watched tinkerbelle and snuggled under the covers, Rich however thought while he was wet would clean the conservatory roof! Typically after this morning it was sunny so I tidied the front garden and Rich cleaned the windows, Olivia played in the gardan and Brendyn played with junk modeling, we had a spring clean on the "outside of the house " We had pork medallions, mash, asparagus, carrots and a side of caramelized red onion and garlic followed by a chocolate cake.
These are our favourite songs at the moment. When I was growing up it was tradition to mark mine and my brother's height on the pantry wall, so we have kept tradition going in our hall cupboard. We had a lovely meal out with Mum and dad for mums birthday, Brendyn traditionally stole daddy's treacle sponge cake.
