Happy Chinese New Year!I found my Doc Martins out of the garage, I had to blow the dust of them, I brought these from the Doc Martins shop in London I just had to have them! (pre kids), when we were with Jenny, Steve and Scarlett, I love Doc Martins! But then being pregnant with Brendyn and waddling like a duck heavy boots were not for me. I spotted them this morning in the garage and thought yes today is the day for the boots! nice big thick chunky warm socks and lots of space in these beauties. I had a lovely morning today with Gemma, despite the awful weather we did not let it dampen our spirits, we pottered around the shops and went for a cup of tea and a tea cake in a different cafe (not our usual one) it was lovely we felt as if we were on holiday in a little tea room, in the past we have gone in the"trendy one"in the village as we thought this one (beginning of village near common) was more a restaurant as a lot of pensioners have been seen in and out of it and they do mid week Sunday Roasts, but this morning we went in and it was empty, tables were reserved for lunch time but we had the pleasure of having some quite time, well with 2 girlys giggling and chatting away, it was so nice Gemma complemented the lady running the establishment and we said same time next week. Looking forward to it! We collected Ted and Olivia and popped to Gemmas for lunch, they played for a while, they get on so well I want to marry them off. Ted is so hansom, kind and sweet he is a lovely little boy. Thanks gemma for such a lovely day. Nursery celebrated Chinese new year with food to taste, wearing red and yellow clothing and painting a horse on a blank white t shirt. Olivia made a dragon banner and showed u how they dance with it, they made Chinese lanterns, she had a lovely morning. Richard collected Brendyn and then it was shopping.
Rich cooked Chinese with prawn crackers, Brendyn and Olivia watched Kung Fu Panda 2 and been as I had got soaked through today he ran me a nice hot bath so while he cooked tea I went and had a soak, thanks pumpkin, film night so we watched Justin. Once they were in bed we watched The Bourne Legacy which Rich borrowed off a mate from work. It tried to snow on and off today, they were excited, it was bitter outside but I still do not think it is cold enough to snow properly and stick. My friend Gemma said she has always had snow on Belles birthday or near it so we are anticipating it by this weekend. After nursery Ted came to play, we had lunch and then I showed Gemma how to crochet, although I am no expert myself, I just get by and are self taught, I am trying to get better but need lots and lots more practice. I only know the basics. Beavers night tonight so its quick tea, Jacket potato and out for 6pm, back at 7pm and then bed. This evening I plan on a nice long hot bath and crocheting some more hair clips for Belles birthday. Brendyn made a horse at Beavers to represent Chinese New year tomorrow.
Today I spent most the day at school, I came home with Olivia had lunch took her to Gemmas to be looked after, (thanks Gemma your a star!) as this afternoon we had P.A.C.T workshop day, it was on the topic of reading where your child reads to you and you ask them questions to make sure they have understood what they are reading. It was nice to spend time with him at school as when we read at home, other then the bedtime routine, there are always distractions, the phone going, Olivia spilling a drink etc, so to have dedicated "us" time was really nice. We read on a night to Brendyn and he reads on his own, he is reading Harry potter at the moment the first book he is half way through it.
The school books are not very interesting, they are facts books and he gets bored quick. But as they have to complete a book review at the end of each book he has to stick with it. So we came home and started tea, daddy came home we ate tea, then usual routine watch 15 minutes of bedtime tv,cuddles on the settee and then Richard listened to Brendyn read his (boring school book) I read to Olivia in bed and cuddled her for 5 minutes. Brendyn came up I read a page of Harry Potter then Brendyn read a page for 10 minutes then it was lights out. So now its our time so I am off to craft something. night night x Swimming today was cancelled, technical pool fault apparently. I called mum and dad and had a half hour chat. I had the pleasure of going to coffee and cake morning with Becky and Caroline, collecting Olivia and basically having a lazy day. I played with my blog now it is on a desk top. In the past it has all been done from my phone either sitting in the car, walking to school or in bed before lights out. So you might notice some changes. It is Richards birthday soon so I have been having a think of what cake to make him so have been jotting a few ideas down so watch this space! What am I ?
Last night I started to make something. Keep guessing.... Well that is it unfortunately, nothing else has happened today, so have a good night whatever you are doing. Richard had today off work to recuperate, plus he was due in London today, after the other day we thought it best to stay at home, he will be in tomorrow as normal. So he put the computer downstairs for me to do my blog on as my laptop is full of photos and running slow. (note to self, desperately need printing and putting on cds) Thanks Rich it is so much better. Olivia read some of these books to me (as in she is gradually learning 3 letter words) she says the words she knows and I read the rest of the story. I made this French dish for Rich as he said he had not had it for 7 years! Bren and Olivia had chicken steak and savory rice. We have not done much else today just chilled. It has been nice having Rich at home. I sat and browsed the net for present ideas for Richards birthday.
Richard is feeling a lot better today thankfully, he still wanted to go to the cinema to watch The Croods, it was a really funny film, we all really enjoyed it. We came home and had roast chicken dinner, chilled and then Becky collected Me and Olivia for Lewies party, the boys stayed at home. Michelle made hair clips for Olivia for her birthday, I wanted to have a go at the pretty flower, so this is the first one I have made and hopefully i will be making more this evening .
We did not have a very good night last night. I did my blog as usual 11pm decided to go to bed, kissed the children goodnight and tucked them in, got upstairs I started taking the cushions of the bed and there was a loud bang, I thought either Rich had some how pulled the basin off the wall or the cupboard with towels on had collapsed, it was so loud, I rushed into the ensuite and Richard was at the side of the toilet having a seizure, his eyes were rolling around and he was not aware that I was in the room and talking to him, it really scared me and was quite a shock. I managed to get him accross to the bed and after 5 minutes he came round but it seemed like forever. Short story, Paramedics attended and decided as he had chest pains, pins and needles and lightheadiness, it was best to have a blood test at the hospital, thanks so much to the paramedics that were fantastic. 3.30am Rich returned home via taxi and managed to get some sleep, he as been ok today but I think r&r is in great need tomorrow. Rich you scared me do not do it again!!! I love you too much to have shocks like that xxx When Rich fell he landed on the toilet roll holder and with 2" screws they were pulled out the wall. After a hectic night we sat quitely this morning making some lego up for Olivia. Richards brother Mark their family and Nanny Jenny came up to visit, it was so lovely having them here. Thank you Shelagh for their lovely Christmas presents and thanks so much Uncle Mark and Aunty Michelle for Olivias birthday presents. After lunch Jenny wanted to go to the wool shop so we popped out and the heavens opened the weather was crazy, dark and a thunderstorm then a mad hailstorm, rain and then back to normal. Thank you Jenny for this pom pom maker Brendyn had a go while we watched epic. Thanks Michelle for the magazine. Olivia made her own tea, Ham, sweetcorn pizza.
Housework and changing bed day. Yay! so glad its Friday. Brendyn has Henry VIII visiting today (I know, amazing) So to launch their topic they have Tudor dressing up day, Brendyn picked a Tudor night. Read Olivia A Dora book and she kept telling me to be quite ad Her baby was sleeping kids are funny they make me laugh, went to the garage to out Olivia scooter away and she was talking to the bin, I said sweetie what are you doing? she said I am speaking to a spider he is off to the dentist , I kept chuckling for the afternoon she makes me so happy with her little imagination.
Have not done much today chilled after a busy week, shopping and tea and film night. Gemma and I popped up the village today it is our Thursday ritual! The cafe is great as you can have a cup of tea for £1. and then we browse the shops, we can never resist the need to pop into the charity shop, we both craft and hop and a catch they have the odd ball of wool, knitting needles etc, I purchased a lovely glass pot for £2. I thought it would look lovely on my kitchen window sill with the light coming through. I brought a piece of red silk material for £1. from the charity shop to use tomorrow, Brendyn has dress up day for the Tudor period, I thought I could make a cloak he already had the tunic from a national trust place we visited. 10am I listened to the readers year 3 until I collected Olivia from nursery, went home for lunch and Olivia did her homework. The 2 fish did not make it unfortunately, Rich thinks that 4 fish for the size of the Tank was too many, extra urine in the water etc. (sorry) We have not told them the past few days they saw the fish hiding under the filter and "not well" so we left it at that. Relaxing on the settee I flicked through craft mags and books, got inspiration flooding to my brain, but still undecisive I ended up watching Sherlock with Richard and crafted a big fat zero.
Icy cold out today so I came back home with Olivia and made a winter veg sausage stew. In the slow cooker. Read her a Dora book and made lunch. Brendyn had his friend Toby play after school and stay for tea, the children had jacket potato, cheese and beans, we all had birthday cake for afters.
